The moment I saw the blinding lights of Times Square, the outrageous tall skycrapers and the life of the city floating through the air, as if it was an inebrianting breeze trying to hipnotize me,oh I knew I would never be the same girl again!
So are you ready to get in the plane and travel all the way to NY with me? Suitcase ready, let's go then!
Times Square, baby!
So, in Times Square is pretty much always super hard to take a nice pic, as there are tourists fighting for the good spots and locals trying to get to their appointments on time, it's crazy!
Lucky for me and if you're coming to New York soon, for you too, I found a sort of wooden ladder in the middle of Times Square that happens to be the perfect spot to catch some of those incredible lights and that make the PERFECT first picture for my old fashioned photo album (yes I still use that, I'm a vintage lover what can I say?)
É sempre super difícil tirar uma boa foto em Times Square, com todos os turistas a andar de um lado para o outro e os nova iorquinos atrasados para as reuniões deles, é uma loucura!
Sorte a minha e sorte a vossa se estão a planear uma viagem para NY, encontrei uma espécie de escadas em madeira no meio de Times Square que acabaram por se tornar o adereço perfeito para estas fotos! Definitivamente esta vai ser uma ótima aquisição para o meu álbum fotográfico (sim eu adoro álbuns e ainda os faço, sou uma amante do passado, o que posso dizer?)
On Top of The Rock, On Top of The World!
Many of you might be wondering how did I managed to get photos with so little or no people at all? Well, it was no piece of cake! First I tried in one of the sides that was FULL of people, so all the pics were coming out nothing like I imagined, and I was pretty upset! But lucky for me, the other side had less people, so I just waited a little bit and was able to get those incredible pics!
You must take one inside the building where you'll get the city as a window view, but you can't leave without taking a pic in the upper floors, it's worthy trust me!
Muitos de vocês devem estar a perguntar-se como consegui tirar estas fotos sem aparecerem pessoas? Bem digo-vos já que não foi nada fácil! Primeiro tentei de um dos lados do Top of The Rock, mas estava cheio de pessoas e as fotos não estavam a ficar nada daquilo que tinha imaginado! Felizmente, do outro lado não estava quase ninguém e tive apenas de esperar uns minutos para conseguir estas fotos fantásticas!
Se querem seguir as minhas ideias, têm de tirar uma foto no interior do Top of The Rock ao lado da janela e depois subir aos pisos superiores e aproveitar a vista incrível!
Brooklyn Bridge, you cutie!
Do you want a pic in the Bridge? Well so did I, and it was a challenge I must say! As usual, I wanted one with in specific position and w/ no one in the background, it was almost impossible, but then I did it! You have 2 options:
Either you climb to the bridge structure, it's like being seated in a wall, not dangerous at all, trust me, and you get the Manhattan view but without crossing the bridge! Or you cross the bridge and you'll find there the perfect spot for a award winning shot!
Vão a NY e querem uma foto na ponte? Também eu queria, estava ansiosa por ter uma, mas que desafio que foi! Como de costume, eu queria uma foto numa posição específica e de preferência, sem muitas pessoas!
Têm 2 opções: ou sobem para a estrutura da ponta do lado de Manhattan, é quase como sentarem-se num murro de jardim, ou então passam a ponta e do lado de Brooklin têm a visão perfeita para a cidade!!!
Grand Central Station Journey
Another super hot spot in New York and another place where taking a picture alone is 99% impossible! I had 2 ideas for the perfect shot in this iconic place, one downstairs near the clock but we got rush hour and it was impossible, and another one were in the "balcony"!
Expectation: a long distance pic with only me in the balcony and the Grand Central as background.
Reality: a nice pic of my in the balcony, not that long distance, 'cause I couldn't manage to have 1 min without being leaning on the balcony to see the Grand Central!
Outro dos sítios super icónicos de NY e outro sítios onde tirarem uma foto sem ninguém é 99% impossível! Eu tinha 2 ideias para tirar fotos nestes sítios, uma era junto ao super conhecido relógio em baixo, mas apanhamos imensa gente por isso foi impossível. A minha outra ideia era tirar na varanda que tem vista para a estação toda, que foi o que consegui!
Expectativa: uma foto onde apenas apareça eu na varanda com a Grand Central Station como fundo
Realidade: uma boa foto comigo na varanda, mas não com tanta vista como gostava, porque não consegui ter este espaço só para mim nem um minuto!
Audrey Hepburn's Wild Side
When researching for the best places to head when in NY, I found this lovely wall painting of Audrey Hepburn, one of my inspirations, on the outside of a cafe in Little Italy! Needless to say, it was love at first sight and I couldn't leave the city without meeting w/Audrey!
For me, this might be one of the best surprised you'll find in NY and surely is a wonderful shot background, but I love Audrey so my opinion is biaset ...
Quando estive à procura dos melhores sítios para visitar em NY, encontrei este mural incrível da Audrey Hepburn, que por acaso é uma das minhas inspirações, na parte de trás de um café amoroso em Little Italy!
Para mim esta foi uma das melhores surpresas que tive em NY e deu origem a uma foto incrivel, mas lá está, eu adoro a Audrey por isso a minha opinião está influenciada..
Spotted in The Steps of The Met
No big Gossip Girl fan can say they've been to NY, if they haven't taken a Blair Waldorf inspired picture in the steps of the Met! Well, I'm a huge huge fan of Blair and Gossip Girl, so I just had to go there and take this picture, which happens to be one of my favorites!
It's impossible to get a shot without no one there, I tried and there's just no way, unless you wake up at 7pm and go there just for that! People or no people in the pic, this is one of the most special memories from NY for me!
Tip: if you wanna have a pic just like this, just find a place in the corner of the stair so that you can catch almost all the Met as your background!
Como grande fã da Gossip Girl que sou, não poderia estar em NY e não tirar a clássica foto estilo Blair Waldorf nas escadas do Met! Bem, é impossível conseguirem uma foto sem ninguém porque está sempre cheio de gente, mas com muitas ou poucas pessoas, esta é uma das minhas memórias mais especiais!
Tip: se quiserem tirar uma foto como a minha, procurem a esquina das escadas para que consigam apanhar uma imagem do Met quase na sua totalidade!
Flat Iron Magic
The Flat Iron is located in the 5th Avenue and it's probably one of the most well-known building in NY, which makes it a mandatory stop for you!
Well, getting the perfect shot there? You'll have to find a place where you can get the building and also the idea of a super large avenue, which it actually is! For me it was a sort of small wall in the middle of the street right in front of the building, but there's a cute esplanade there that grants great pictures too!
O Flat Iron é uma das maiores referências de Nova Iorque e está localizado na 5º Avenida, o que o torna uma paragem obrigatória!
Querem tirar a foto perfeita lá? Então têm de conseguir encontrar um sítio onde consigam apanhar o edifício e toda a 5º Avenida! Para mim foi esta espécie de murro mesmo no meio da Avenida e em frente ao edifício, mas também têm uma esplanada super querida mesmo à frente do Flat Iron que deve ter uma ótima vista!
Sex and The City Days
I was super excited to see Carrie Bradshaw's home as I'm a major fan of the TV series and movies, so when I arrived there, well it was everything I expected, apart from the metal string that block your way to the stairs, that was sad but there's people living there, so it's understandable!
Carrie's entrance might be closed, but there's nothing stopping you from taking an iconic shot there and if you're like me and you're such a huge fan, bring your "sex and the city" inspired accessory (for me it was that shirt) and recreate the perfect memoir for future days!
Eu estava super entusiasmada para ver a casa da Carrie Bradshaw porque sou super fã da série e dos filmes, e quando cheguei era tudo aquilo que estava à espera, tirando a corda de metal que impede o acesso às escadas, mas como há pessoas que moram lá, é compreensível!
A entrada da Carrie pode estar impedida mas não há nada que vos impeça de tirar uma foto icónica e se forem como eu, grandes fãs da série, levem o vosso acessório alusivo ao "sexo e a cidade" (no meu caso foi a t-shirt) e recriem uma memória para a vida!
2 Different Halves That Match
Me and my best friend, well we've been best friend since ever, but we're very different people, but I guess that's what makes us our bond so unique! Well, I had this idea of bringing my "sex and the city" shirt and she'd bring her "Friends" shirt, 'cause it's her favorite TV series, and we'd take this amazing pic together!
Basically, when looking at this pic, I see how different we are, how different our tastes are, but how amazing we're together! So if you're travelling with your best friend, don't miss out the chance to have a pic like this!
Eu e a minha melhor amiga, bem somos melhores amigas desde sempre mas somos pessoas mesmo diferentes, no entanto acho que é isso é que torna a nossa amizade tão única! Bem, eu tive a ideia de trazer a minha t-shirt do "sex and the city" e ela trouxe a dela de "Friends" porque é a série preferida dela, e decidimos tirar esta foto incrível juntas!
Basicamente, quando olho para esta foto consigo ver que somos diferentes, que os nossos gostos são diferentes, mas que isso nos torna fantásticas juntas! Por isso se estiverem a viajar com a vossa melhor amiga, não percam a oportunidade de tirar uma foto destas!
Crossing the Street in Style
Everybody or almost everybody that goes to NY wants a pic crossing the street, well it's SUPER hard to get one without random cars and people on the background, but you'll succeed! The trick is to go to one of the less busy streets of NY (this pic was taken near Mn'M's store) and one that has a great view, and just wait until the light is green, and just run to the middle of the street and start taking pictures!
Some people will be nice and wait until you're done, other won't but with a little bit of patience, you'll have the perfect pic!
Toda a gente ou quase toda a gente, quando vem a NY quer uma foto a atravessar a passadeira mas devo dizer-vos que é SUPER difícil conseguir uma foto sem pessoas aleatórias e sem carros como fundo!
O truque é escolherem uma das ruas menos movimentadas e com boa vista para NY (esta foto foi tirada na rua ao lado da loja da Mn'M) e esperarem até que o semáforo fique e verde e depois, é so correrem!!
Algumas pessoas vão ser simpáticas e esperar que vocês terminem, outras não mas com paciência vão conseguir!
