Girls Weekend in Milan - Day 1 and 2 💳

Olá!

No fim de semana passado estive em Milão e, apesar de já ter estado lá uma vez, desta vez vi imensas coisas novas e consegui ainda ter a experiência de conhecer a cidade fora dos limites turísticos.
O tempo esteve maravilhoso durante todos os dias em que lá estivemos o que ajudou imenso e, pela primeira vez, posso dizer-vos que consegui escolher a roupa adequada para o tempo que estava. Normalmente eu sofro de um enorme problema não só em viagem mas no Porto também, escolho sempre a roupa errada para o tempo que vai estar. Ou estou demasiado agasalhada ou estou demasiado fresca mas, desta vez, estava perfeita!!

Como levei a minha máquina nova tirei imensas fotos, hoje apenas vou partilhar as fotos dos 2 primeiros dias e amanhã deixo-vos o meu 3º e último dia em Milão.

I went to Milan to spend the weekend and, even though I have already been there, this time I was able to see lots of new things and even got the chance to know the city outside the touristic places. 
The weather was amazing, we were very lucky cause it helped a lot and, for the first time I must say, I chose the right clothes to wear. Normally I suffer from this very annoying problem, whenever I travel and even in Porto, I'm never dresses to the occasion meaning, I'm always overdressed and I die of heat, or I don't have enough clothes and I freeze to death. 
This time I was perfect!!

As I took my newest camera and took tons of photos, in today's post I will only share with you the first 2 days or my trip and then, tomorrow, I will share the 3rd and last day. 





O 1º dia foi o mais atribulado porque eu e a minha amiga Beni estávamos basicamente as duas sozinhas na cidade e foi mais complicado conseguirmos orientar-nos. Conseguem adivinhar porque?
Não arranjávamos um único sítio onde tivéssemos acesso a Wi-fi ou seja, todas as nossas tentativas de encontrar uma pizzaria decente, tornaram-se ainda mais difíceis. De qualquer maneira, acabamos por almoçar e aproveitar o resto do dia. Depois de alguma dificuldade em conseguirmos perceber o metro, finalmente chegamos ao Duomo e continuava maravilhoso como da última vez que o vi. Não tivemos oportunidade de subir ao Duomo porque estava uma fila enorme, mas da última vez que lá estive subi e aconselho-vos a fazê-lo.

The 1st day was the harder one since I and my friend Beni were pretty much alone in the city and it was a little bit hard to know where we were. Do you have any idea why it was so hard for us to know where we were? Because we were struggling to find a place where we could have internet access and so, all our attempts to find a reasonable pizzaria became harder- Either ways, we managed to have lunch and spend the rest of the day enjoying the city. 
After understanding how the subway worked, we managed to get to Duomo and it remained as beautiful as I remembered. We weren't able to climb all the up of Duomo because the line was huge but if you go to Milan I recommend you to do it, it has stunning views.

2º  Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II 💸

Entrar nesta galeria é como entrar num verdadeiro paraíso. Os tectos são lindíssimos, as varandas que percorrem as galerias são um sonho, já para não falar nas lojas que são sem dúvida de perder a cabeça. Uma das coisas que reparei desta vez e que da última vez não tinha reparado foi que ao lado da loja da Prada, existe a loja inaugural da marca que abriu pela 1º vez em 1913.

Walking inside this gallery is like walking into Heaven. The roofs are just amazing, the balconies are stunning and not to mention the amount of stores that can literally make you lose your mind- One of the things I noticed this time was the store near Prada which is also a Prada store, but is actually the first store of the brand opened in 1913.












3º Comer o que é, para mim, o melhor gelado de Milão no Savini 🍧

Having, what for me is, the best ice-cream in Milan at Savini

Como eterna amante de gelados de morango, da 1º vez que estive em Milão provei o gelado da Savini e foi sem dúvida o melhor que comi na vida por isso, tive de voltar.

As an eternal lover of strawberry ice-creams, I went to have an ice-cream at Savini since, the first time I went to Milan, I tasted it and absolutely loved it!





4º  La Rinascente

As galerias comerciais La Rinascente são como um El Corte Inglês com marcas ainda mais caras. Entrando nestas galerias no res-chão podemos apreciar os produtos de beleza, maquilhagem e perfumes das melhores marcas. Subindo para o 1º piso, encontramos todas as marcas, Dolce and Gabanna,  Miu Miu, Gucci, tudo aquilo com que sonhamos à distância de um toque.
O último piso das galerias é um bar que tem uma vista magnífica sobre o Duomo, mas para apreciar esta vista vão ter de abrir os cordões à bolsa, e de que maneira!!

The commercial galleries La Rinascente are something like El Corte Inglês but with even more expensive brands. In the ground floor you can see the beauty products, make-up and perfumes from all the big brands. Climbing to the 1st floor, we find all the best brands from Dolce and Gabanna and Miu Miu to Gucci, everything we have ever dreamed about only one touch distance.
The top floor of Rinascente host a bar with an amazing view to Duomo but, in order for you to enjoy the view, you'll really have to be ready to spend some extra money. 



5º  Passeio ao final da tarde em Navigli ⛴

End of the day walk at Navigli

A zona de Navigli é muito bonita e como podem ver, esta espécie de canal com vários restaurantes dos dois lados onde se podem comer os famosos Aperitivos milaneses.

Navigli is a lovely part of Milan and also, a more relaxed one. There you can find this kind of canal with restaurants in both sides where you can try the traditional and famous Aperitivos.

1º Prédio da UniCrédito e zona comercial 🏬

UniCrédito building and commercial area

Após uma boa noite de sono, começamos o dia por visitar o prédio da UniCrédito e a zona comercial que o rodeia. A construção deste prédio envolveu um aspecto polémico, uma vez que o mesmo tem uma altura superior ao Duomo e, quando tal acontecesse, é normal colocar-se no topo do prédio uma santa no entanto, a UniCrédito não respeitou esta tradição.

After a good night of sleep, we started the second day by visiting the UniCrédito building and the commercial area surrounding it. The construction of this building involved a controversial aspect, since this building is higher than Duomo and Milan has a tradition of, when the buildings are higher than Duomo, the company should place a saint on top of it but, UniCrédito did not stick to the tradition. 

  


2º  Bosco Verticalle - A Floresta Vertical de Milão 🌳

Estes prédios foram construídos com o objetivo de melhorar a qualidade de vida milanesa. Milão é a cidade italiana com mais altos níveis de poluição e estes empreendimentos foram construídos na tentativa de minorar os efeitos nocivos da poluição.

This residential buildings were constructed as an attempt to improve the quality of life of Milan, as this city is the most polluted city in Italy. So, as to upgrade the life of the citizens of Milan, they built this houses with trees.


3º  Lojas e mais lojas 👛

Stores and more stores


A fachada desta loja é muito original, já que toda ela é revestida a lantejoulas que, com o vento, criam o efeito de movimento que vemos na foto.

The façade of this store is extremely original because the store is coated of sequins that, when the wind passes, they create this effect of movement we see in the picture above. 





6º Parque Sempione e Castello Sforzesco 🌺




7º  Uma vista diferente do Duomo 📷

Após almoçarmos numa pizzaria ótima junto ao Castello, continuamos o nosso passeio em direção à Corso Torino e tivemos a oportunidade o Duomo de outra perspectiva.
Uma curiosidade acerca desta foto, vêm as palmeiras que aí estão? Foram oferecidas pela Starbucks, uma vez que a marca vai abrir o seu primeiro espaço em Milão. Os milaneses interpretaram isto como um ultraje, houve várias críticas e acesas discussões e até uma palmeira queimada para mostrar o desagrado dos locais.

After having lunch in a lovely pizzaria near the Castello, we continued to walk towards Corso Torino and had the chance to have a glance of a different view of the Duomo.
A curiosity about this picture, see the palm trees in the photo? They were offered to the city of Milan by Starbucks , since the company will open it's first store in 2018. Unfortunately, what seemed to be a nice action ended to be target of high critics and discussion, because the locals weren't happy with the initiative and even burned one of the palm trees.
