Como sabem hoje é o Dia da Mulher, e de certeza que sabem, já que as redes sociais estão inundadas de statements e pelo que parece, aqui vem mais um!
Quando penso neste dia, rapidamente me relembro de todas as mulheres que, no passado, lutaram para que pudéssemos ter acesso às mesmas oportunidades que os homens, todas aquelas que dedicaram a sua vida para que pudéssemos ter os mesmos direitos, mas também os mesmos deveres.
O caminho a percorrer foi longo mas parece que nos fez chegar a algum lado porque, hoje em dia, as mulheres têm uma voz e não têm medo de a usar. Vejam o exemplos das várias manifestações contra as políticas de Donald Trump, não seja ele o atual presidente de uma das maiores, senão a maior potência mundial e talvez, um dos homens mais sexistas que a memória me permite lembrar (mesmo após os seus tweets de hoje).
Mas afinal, quem são as Grandes Mulheres dos nossos dias?
A revista Forbes afirma que o top 3 das mulheres mais poderosas do Mundo em 2016 são: Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton e Janet Yellen. Olhando para estes nomes, todos ou pelo menos a maioria parece-nos familiar e realmente, não podemos tirar-lhes o mérito que ganharam com o seu árduo trabalho e dedicação.
Bem, quando comecei a escrever este post, a minha intenção era falar-vos precisamente de mulheres como Hillary Clinton, mulheres de "pulso", orientadas para objetivos e extremamente competentes e boas naquilo a que se dedicam. No entanto, à medida que vos ia escrevendo percebi que, pelo menos para mim, Grandes Mulheres são todas as mulheres. Não é preciso serem as líderes políticas de um país ou candidatas ao título de Presidente dos Estados Unidos da América, para que possamos endereça-las como Grandes Mulheres.
A meu ver, é tão grande a mulher que se dedica de corpo e alma à sua família e sacrifica a sua carreira para isso, como a mulher que decidiu que o seu percurso profissional era o mais importante e como tal, decidiu que não queria filhos. É tão grande a mulher que tem 1 filho como a que tem 3 ou 4.
A verdade é que todos os dias estamos perante milhares de grandes mulheres mas mesmo assim, insistimos em as considerar "apenas o normal" ou "não faz mais que a sua obrigação", e a apelidar apenas de Grandes Mulheres, talvez, os nossos ídolos de adolescência ou alguém que admiramos profissionalmente.
Por isso, especialmente hoje, é dia de agradecermos às Grandes Mulheres que cruzaram o nosso caminho sejam elas as nossas mães, as nossas avós, irmãs, amigas ou até aquela colega de trabalho que nos surpreendeu no outro dia. Todos os dias são dias para isso.
Eu vou agradecer especialmente à minha mãe, porque ela para mim é o verdadeiro exemplo de uma Grande Mulher. Esteve sempre presente na minha vida tanto para se rir das minhas parvoíces como para me ajudar a ultrapassar momentos menos bons e mesmo assim, conseguiu construir uma carreira de sucesso. Ela é o verdadeiro significado de ter uma melhor amiga e mais que isso, ela ama-me pelo que realmente sou.
Então, o meu conselho para vocês é que parem de escrever nos murais do vosso Facebook ou de postar fotos no vosso Instagram, e simplesmente digam às mulheres que vos rodeiam que são o vosso modelo a seguir, digam-lhe que elas são umas Grande Mulheres, façam-no pessoalmente. E não se esqueçam, também vocês são Grandes Mulheres e por isso, sintam-se orgulhosas de vocês e nunca deixem que ninguém vos diga o contrário.

Hi!
So as you known, today is Women's Day and I'm sure you know it, since the social networks were invaded by thousands of statements and, here comes another one.
When I think about this day, I instantly start to look back and think of all those women who fought for us to be able to have access to the same opportunities man have, all those women who dedicated their lives to enable us to have the same rights as men but also, the same duties.
It was a long journey but we managed to get somewhere because nowadays, women actually have voices, and they're not afraid to use them. Take the Donald Trump manifestations as an example, women united to fight one of the most sexist men (today's tweets do not erase what he said before) I can recall and, unfortunately, turns out he's actually the President of the United States.
But, who are the Great Women of our days, after all?
Forbes Magazine stated that the top 3 most powerful women of the World in 2016 were: Angela Merkel, Hillary Clinton and Janet Yellen. Looking at these names, we recognise all of them or at least, the majority of them, and we can't deny how amazing these women are, and how they managed to earn the respect of many with their hard work and dedication.
So, when I started to write you this post, my intention was to tell you about women like Hillary Clinton, with a strong mind, goal-oriented and extremely competent and good at anything they commit.
However, as I was writing, it came to my mind that not only these women can be called as Great Women because for me, every women is a Great Women. It doesn't take being the leader of a country or running for President of the United States to earn the right to the "Great Women" title.
As far as I can see, a Great Women is both the one who sacrifices her career to take care of her family and fully dedicates to it, and the one who decides that her career is more important and so, she decides not to have kids. A Great Women is the one who has 1 kid and the one who has 3 or 4.
The truth is, everyday we come across thousands of Great Women but still, we continue to say "they're just normal" and "what they do is what they have to do", and to keep the Great Women titles to only those women who are, perhaps, our adolescent idols or someone we look up professionally.
So, especially today, take the day to thank to all the Great Women who ever crossed your path even if they're your mother, your grandmother, your sister, your friend or even that co-worker who surprised you in the other day. Everyday is a day for that.
For me, I will thank especially to my mother, because she is the real example of a Great Women. She has always been there for me, to laugh at my non-sense or wipe my tears and still manages to have a successful career. She's the true meaning of having a best friend and most of all, she loves me for the real me.
So my advice for you today, is to stop writing on your Facebook walls or posting pictures on your Instagram and just tell those women they are your role model, tell them they are a Great Women, in person. And do no forget, you to are a Great Women so, fell proud of yourself and never let no one tell you different.
